The German airline Lufthansa resumed its flights to Cairo on Sunday, after a short interruption of that service, on Saturday, for unspecified security reasons.
Sources of the company, the first of the sector in Germany, announced early on Sunday that regular flights to the Egyptian capital were restored, without giving further details.
This decision follows the statement issued on Saturday at the last minute on the "preventive" suspension of the service and in which it was specified that for Lufthansa security is "the highest priority".
The measure was adopted after British Airways (BA) had canceled all flights to Cairo on Saturday, for a period of seven days and as a security measure, but also without specifying further reasons.
