Los Llanos de la Pez and La Goleta close the XII Gran Canaria Guiding League - La Provincia

The XII edition of the Gran Canaria Orienteering League kicks off the weekend with the last two events of the season, which are held in Los Llanos de la Pez and The Schooner (Arucas) the next Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both competitions will decide all the categories after nine races of which each runner will retain the best six results for the final classification.
The first of the tests will take place at the Summit and will be long distance, with a circuit of 22 beacons in the elite category and a linear distance of 8.2 kilometers. The first departure will take place on Saturday at 10.00. On Sunday, at the same time, the last race of the season will begin, which will have as a meeting place the neighborhood of La Goleta in Arqueca and will be of medium distance. On this occasion, the participants will have to face a new map, prepared by the cartographer Gastón Mora, who will have urban and rural areas.
Precisely, Mora will play the championship in elite category with David Pérez Talavera, both runners of the team OrientaGC. In the absence of the two races, the first leads the standings with 567 points for 545 Talavera, both with six results. Oscar García will have to defend the leadership of M-21, as well as Nacho Palla in M-35, Manolo López in M-45, Sabela Torres in F-21, Roman Dudek and Francisco Gómez in veteran pairs, Almudena Rodríguez and Nelsón Hernández in senior couples, César Augusto Pacheco in M / F-14, Alejandro Hernández in M / F-16, Javier Andrés Pacheco in M-18 and Nira Jiménez in F-18.
