“Life has the delicacy of flowers”, Brines’ virtual gratitude

Valencia, Apr 23 (EFE) .- The poet Francisco Brines, Cervantes 2020 award winner, thanked this Friday for the large number of congratulations he is receiving with a few words from his home on the Elca farm, in the Valencian municipality of Oliva.

“Life sometimes has the delicacy of flowers: their flesh is the petals with their obligatory color and the miracle is done; you approach and how they smell. Color, aroma and shape, a living being. And that is what man receive on earth from the hand of God. From Elca, happy good book day “, the poet wrote in a message sent to his friends and to the many people who have conveyed their congratulations to him.

The text is accompanied by a photograph in which an image of the manuscript of his poem “The Last Trip” appears, on which there is deposited a red rose with which the writer also wanted to join the celebration of Book Day.

Brines has not been able to attend this Friday, due to his health condition, to the Cervantes Award ceremony, which is held annually at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), the hometown of Miguel de Cervantes, chaired by kings on Book Day.

Sources from the poet’s environment have told Efe that the writer is “stable” within his delicate state of health, and has been following with “emotion” all the information about the event he would have liked to attend.

The Minister of Culture, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, has announced that he will soon go with the kings to deliver the prize to the poet to “his native Oliva”, on a date yet to be specified, pending the evolution of the writer’s state of health .
