Podemos announces that the Government will approve the Animal Welfare Law this Monday

The Minister of Social Rights and leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, announced this Monday that in the Council of Ministers that is going to be held this afternoon, the Government plans to approve the Animal Welfare Law. The draft contemplates, among other measures, prohibiting the slaughter of domestic animals if it is not done for health reasons.

In addition, with the aim of putting an end to mistreatment, the normal contemplates toughening the penalties for these acts through a reform of the Penal Code that contemplates all vertebrate animals, such as wild boars, for which until now there was no legislation to prevent violence against them. In this way, in cases in which the death of the animal occurs, the sentence is 24 months in prison, although it can reach up to 36 if there is more than one aggravating circumstance.

The Minister of Finance accuses Feijóo of acting in "bad faith" by describing the public debt as "pufo"

The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has accused the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, of acting in "bad faith" by saying in an interview in the newspaper El Mundo that Pedro Sánchez "has put a pufo to each Spaniard of 6,000 euros in debt".

“Speaking in these terms shows total ignorance or bad faith. Feijóo arrived at the Xunta with a debt of 3,954 million and left it with 11,314 million. According to her words, did Feijóo leave a "pufo" in Galicia of 7,360 million? ”, The minister has written on her Twitter account.

Montero has branded Fejóo "insolvent" and has considered that "he continues to want to deceive the citizens as the PP always does when he governs and when he does not." “The last Rajoy government increased Spain's public debt by 46%. They are official data that Feijóo should know ”, he has reproached him on the social network.

The minister assured that Spain has been reducing public debt for four consecutive quarters and that last year it closed "with the largest deficit reduction in history"

Feijóo, for his part, made these statements when asked about how he would deal with the economic situation if he became president. “The first thing I will do is tell the Spaniards what the status of their accounts is. That Sánchez has put each Spaniard in debt of 6,000 euros must be explained. What we will do will be an audit of the economic, fiscal, debt and deficit reality and based on that we will undertake proposals”, he indicated in the interview.
