Feijóo accuses the Government of "lining up" with the rise in energy and Sánchez replies that this money goes to the autonomous communities
Pedro Sánchez responded this Monday to the criticism of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who accused the Government of making a fortune with the rise in the price of electricity. The head of the Executive described his words as a “snapshot” and reminded the head of the Xunta de Galicia that the autonomous communities are the ones that are benefiting the most from the taxes received from the increase in the electricity rate.
In the morning, in a campaign event in Palma for the PP primaries, Feijóo had criticized the central Executive for being "rich" through energy taxes. The leader pointed out that "50%" of the rate are "taxes".
Feijoo, Sánchez said in an interview on La Sexta at night, he is still president of Galicia and he knows that 100% of the income collected by the State through electricity production goes to the autonomous communities, as does 58% of what is collected in the tax on hydrocarbons . For this reason, he insisted, the autonomies "do not cover themselves" but are attending to the Welfare State. "Let's not forget that we are still suffering from a pandemic," concluded the head of the Government.
