The Las Palmas University Foundation presented yesterday the first course of University Expert in Digital Skills that will allow the graduates from any professional branch, regardless of whether it is not technological, acquire knowledge to be "digitally competent", as recommended by the European Union, and to be able to access new opportunities, both formative and professional.
In this context, the Las Palmas University Foundation has wanted to go one step further and promote training according to these needs to help train those who can lead the digital transformation. For this he has designed a title of postgraduate focused on the five areas that make up this transformation, which revolve around information, communication, content creation, security and problem solving.
The program that will begin at the end of October responds to the demand of companies that require their employees to handle the essential knowledge to face the digital transformation. Therefore, it is aimed at graduates of any professional area and already has a high demand, with registered members of the branches of law, geography, economics, labor relations and even officials and entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises, among others.
The presentation was attended by the president of the Las Palmas University Foundation, Carlos Estévez; the Vice Chancellor of Degrees and Permanent Training of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Marcos Peñate; he director Private Bank of Banco Sabadell in the Canary Islands, representing the Banco Sabadell Foundation, Jorge Cisneros; the director of the DISA Foundation, Sara Mateos; and the director of the MAPFRE Foundation GuanartemeEsther Martel
Precisely, the collaboration of these entities has allowed 30 scholarships to be offered for those students who meet a series of requirements, and in addition, the training is 100% bonus for companies through the State Foundation for Employment Training (FUNDAE ).
As the president of the University Foundation pointed out, "our intention is to democratize knowledge in digital skills and bring society closer to the trends in this area, but above all, give the opportunity for students to have a training according to what companies are looking for, which is why it is a journey through all those competences considered digital, a general approach to what is currently happening in a scenario of change and uncertainty. "
In this sense, the director of the DISA Foundation added that "currently, the speed of change is such that it requires a constant need for learning, adaptation and inventing new solutions to new problems and needs. Therefore, from our Foundation we consider fundamental to support initiatives that promote that culture of change. "
On the other hand, the director of the MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation, stressed that "one of the priorities of our Foundation is to support the training of young people and professionals in our islands and we try to do so in those areas or subjects that we know increase possibilities of access to employment. This is a program that covers a real need, a real demand for young Canaries. "
Likewise, the director of Private Banking at Banco Sabadell in the Canary Islands, said that "we work daily and strive so that through programs such as these, the opportunity is given to people who deserve it in areas such as talent and their training for the future. ".
For his part, the Vice Chancellor for Degrees and Permanent Training of the University of Las Palmas de Gran CanariaHe said that "the University Expert in Digital Competition presented today aims to develop the digital competences of citizens.
