Lanzarote folklore loses Heraclio Niz – La Provincia

The folklore Lanzarote is in mourning. This Thursday he died on the island of Tenerife Heraclio Niz Hernández Founding component of Amigos de Portonao. From the beginning of the first meetings of the hand of José Borges back in 1978 until a few years later on 1984, the presentation of the Niz group was present.

Heraclio had the mission of playing the guitar while also joining his voice to that of his teammates, participating in the first recording of the vinyl record back in 1987 'Velas y Vientos del Pastado'. A jewel that was joined by a large and enriching book with texts and photographs of the 'Old Reef Sailor'.

After 19 years, Amigos de Portonao records his second CD format, continuing with the same line of marine tradition entitled 'Between Masts and Volcanoes'. Heraclio participated in each of the actions carried out by the group in many scenarios of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. He was also honored to participate in the proclamation of the festivities of San Ginés held in the Puddle of San Ginés In 2018, not forgetting the XXX editions of the Habaneras and Música del Mar Meeting Braulio de León within the program of events of the festivities of San Ginés.
