The singer Lady Gaga announced on Tuesday the decision to postpone the publication of her new album “Chromatica” indefinitely, since she had planned to release it on April 10, coinciding with a surprise concert at the Coachella festival, postponed by the coronavirus crisis .
“After much deliberation, I have made the difficult decision to postpone the release of ‘Chromatica’,” I will announce a new date soon, “the artist said on her social networks.
According to Gaga, the publication of her new album was to be accompanied “by many surprises”, such as a secret concert in Coachella, the spring festival that had to be postponed until autumn by COVID-19, like so many other events.
“This is a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I think art is one of the strongest things we have to bring us joy and healing at times like this, it just doesn’t seem right to release this album with all that is happening during this global pandemic “, justified the author of hits like” Bad Romance “and” Born This Way “.
In addition, the star has canceled the performances of his show in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) scheduled from April 30 to May 11, although he added that he hopes that his shows scheduled for the end of May “may continue”.
“I also hope we can see each other on my ‘Chromatica Ball’ tour this summer,” he insisted.
Gaga announced her next album in early March, just a few weeks before the coronavirus was declared a pandemic and a series of event cancellations began as citizens from much of the world were confined to their homes.
“I hope that when the album comes out … we can dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time. And until that time comes, everyone to stay home!” Gaga asked.
After a break of more than three years in which Gaga was nominated for an Oscar, won a Golden Globe and composed one of the most successful soundtracks of the decade, the artist returned to more immediate and danceable pop with “Stupid Love” the first single from the album postponed.
This is the first original song that Gaga publishes – except for the compositions for the movie “A Star is Born” – since her intimate album “Joanne”, from 2016, and the first completely pop song since she released “Artpop” in 2013, after hits like “Poker Face” or “Born This Way”.
