The French group Lacoste has presented an ERE that affects 74% of its Spanish subsidiary, Lacoste Ibérica (formerly Basi), located in Badalona (Barcelona), and which means the dismissal of 100 of the 135 people working in Spain.
Union sources have explained that the affected employees would be 58 workers of the warehouse of Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona), seven of a shop located in the Barcelona street of Balcells and 35 of the central offices of Badalona.
The same sources have argued that Lacoste has communicated this Tuesday the employment regulation file to the works council.
According to the unions, everything points to the fact that from now on the company will distribute its garments directly from France in the Spanish market.
The ERE will begin to be negotiated next week and the unions are confident that early retirement can occur taking into account the advanced age of the workforce.
