The La Caja de Canarias Foundation will support again this year with 6,000 euros to Canary Museum, in order that this cultural institution can acquire new works of Canarian authors, as well as magazines and newspapers of the Archipelago and increase its documentary collection.

This was announced by the president of the Foundation, Blas Trujillo, who has emphasized that this agreement "reaffirms the commitment that the La Caja de Canarias Foundation has with the entities that defend, promote and cultivate all those values ​​that have to do with this land".

For his part, the president of the Canary Museum, Diego López, explained that the subsidy will be used to buy new editions of works by different Canarian authors, as well as to digitize the press and other documents.

López indicated, after signing the agreement, that the documentary part of the museum It is one of the most important areas of the institution, since it contains documentary collections, which are divided into three areas: the Canarian library, the newspaper library and the archive.
