La Caja de Canarias Foundation grants 6,000 euros to the Canary Museum to acquire works by Canarian authors - La Provincia
The La Caja de Canarias Foundation will support again this year with 6,000 euros to Canary Museum, in order that this cultural institution can acquire new works of Canarian authors, as well as magazines and newspapers of the Archipelago and increase its documentary collection.
This was announced by the president of the Foundation, Blas Trujillo, who has emphasized that this agreement "reaffirms the commitment that the La Caja de Canarias Foundation has with the entities that defend, promote and cultivate all those values that have to do with this land".
López indicated, after signing the agreement, that the documentary part of the museum It is one of the most important areas of the institution, since it contains documentary collections, which are divided into three areas: the Canarian library, the newspaper library and the archive.
In the case of the library, Diego López stressed that it houses a large number of works by writers or Canarian themes, while the newspaper library " is the best there is in the archipelago", since the archive keeps works from the end of the 15th century to the present day, in which you can find important documents like those of Felo Monzón or the archive of the Inquisition, which is one of the best preserved of the few" that still exist "
