Kings and Trump advocate bilateral solidarity in the face of the pandemic

The kings held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and his wife, Melania, in which they advocated solidarity and understanding between the two countries to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia have spoken from the Zarzuela Palace with the Trump couple and, as reported by the Royal Household, they have also confirmed the good state of bilateral relations.

In the conversation, there has been an opportunity to analyze the evolution of the pandemic throughout the world, and, in particular, both in Spain and in the United States.

It is in this context that Zarzuela has underlined that solidarity and mutual understanding between the two countries in the current circumstances to face COVID-19 has been a prominent element in the conversation.

They have also emphasized the mutual desire that, once the crisis caused by the pandemic has been overcome, the bilateral agenda can be resumed and progress made in strengthening transatlantic ties.

Likewise, they have expressed their will to recover as soon as possible the state visit that the kings were going to make to the United States in late April and that has been postponed by the health crisis.
