Justice prevents Mercadona from using facial recognition to detect customers with a restraining order from its stores

Justice rejects the facial recognition system proposed by Mercadona to detect if people with a restraining order in force against their stores or workers enter any of their centers. The Provincial Court of Barcelona has ruled on a particular case and has denied the company authorization to use a facial recognition system with which they wanted to know if two people convicted of theft, who had a restraining order on a specific center , they accessed any establishment of the company.
