The actor and theater director Josep Maria Pou has been appointed new director artistic of Romea Theater of Barcelona, as announced by the Focus Group on Monday.
Pou, referring to the national theater scene, began its close collaboration with the Focus company in 2003 on the occasion of the premiere of the show Celobert, by David Hare, precisely, at the Romea Theater.

This relationship was consolidated after premieres as important as Rei Lear, by William Shakespeare (2004); The goat or what is Sylvia?, by Edward Albee (2005-2006), Your secure server, Orson Welles, by Richard France (2008) and Socrates, trial and death of a citizen, by Mario Gas and Alberto Iglesias (2015-2017), represented in this same theater.
Pou arrives at the front of the Romea after being in charge for eleven years of the artistic direction of the Goya Theater, where he started with the premiere of Els nois d'història, by Alan Bennett, stage in which he has consolidated the artistic line of the space and programmed highly successful shows for critics and audiences.
