Jon Rahm's incredible hole in one
Mexico, Feb 22 (EFE) .- Spaniard Jon Rahm broke the field record this Saturday to climb from the twenty-second to fourth place of the WGC-Mexico Championship, whose leadership is American Justin Thomas, at the end of the third day.
In the Chapultepec club in Mexico City, at 2,240 meters above sea level, Rahm signed a 61-stroke card (10 under par) with which he broke the field record.
The world number three made a spectacular 'hole in one' in hole 17; He started with four consecutive birdies in the first four holes and added two more to 6 and 7 before committing his only lap lap, at 8.
Then he repeated birdies on 12, 13 and 15 and put the climax with a spectacular 'hole in one' on 17. Rahm threw the green and the ball bounced only once in it to enter the hole.
Justin Thomas made a lap of 65 and jumped to first place with 198 hits; it surpasses by one the South African Erik Van Rooyen and the American Patrick Reed, who in turn are three above Rahm, the Norwegian Rory McIlroy, leader of the PGA ranking and Bryson DeChambeu.
The fourth and final round of the tournament, endowed with a prize pool of 10.2 million dollars, will be played this Sunday.
