Javier Solana, admitted for coronavirus

77-year-old former NATO Secretary General Javier Solana has been admitted with a coronavirus, sources close to the former Socialist minister have confirmed to Efe.

According to ABC today, the politician has been hospitalized in the Ram├│n y Cajal Hospital since Wednesday, after testing positive for coronavirus.

Solana was UN Secretary General (1995-1999) High Representative for EU Foreign and Security Policy (1999-2009) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (1992-1995).

The former socialist minister, who is currently president of the Prado Museum Board of Trustees, joins the list of Spanish politicians who have tested positive for coronaviruses such as the Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, the Minister for Territorial Policy and Public Function, Carolina Darias, or the vice president of Congress, Ana Pastor.
