Italian musician Franco Battiato dies

Rome, May 18 (EFE) .- The musician Franco Battiato, one of the most famous Italian singer-songwriters and composers of recent decades, died today at his home in Sicily (southern Italy), his family reported, according to local media.

Battiato, 76 years old and who had been ill for a long time, was known worldwide for his poetic and existential style that accompanied him throughout his career, with songs such as “Centro di gravità Permanente” (1981) or “Voglio vederti danzare” ( 1982).
