This has been expressed in the Europa Press informational breakfast in which Chivite has appealed to UPN to return to the “historic consensus” of defense of the self-government of Navarra that “has always existed.” In this sense, he has claimed the support of his government partners, Podemos and Geroa Bai, and the rest of the formations.
However, Chivite has denied that the Civil Guard will leave Navarra, although it has explained that it will be dedicated to other functions. “I encourage those who manipulate the truth to commit to it,” he stressed.
In this regard, the Navarrese president has criticized those who censor this transfer and defend that it is a transfer by the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the PNV for her support in the investiture. He recalled that it is an agreement of the last legislature, in which Uxue Barkos ruled, and that they will carry it out during this stage.
The president of Navarra has explained that the commitment on the part of both governments is to sign this agreement in the first six months of the year, although she has acknowledged that this transfer will be effective gradually.
During his speech, Chivite has assured that Navarra will need more provision of regional police to assume this competence and that for this they will offer public employment and that Civil Guard agents that are destined for Traffic will be able to find another position in Navarra, if they wish.
Therefore, he has insisted that this transfer is part of the self-government of Navarra, included in the Spanish Constitution, and has encouraged the rest of the formations to speak with “respect and education” of the Magna Carta.
In this regard, he has affected the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, her statements as “paletos” to those who defend the identity of Navarra. Chivite believes that “defending” the self-government of the regional community is not about being “paletos”, but that it is, as he has said, “defending history.”
