Isabel Medina, on the Day of the Writers - The Province

Isabel Medina says that she was involved in writing "in a surprising way" to realize as a teacher that there were no children's stories set in the Canary Islands, although her love for literature began in adolescence, when she fell in love "deeply" with Shakespeare. Medina was yesterday protagonist in the act with which the Canary Government -in the photo with the Minister of Culture, María José Guerra, and Deputy Minister Juan Márquez-, celebrated the Day of the Writers. The author, who was born in Hermigua in 1943, thanked this recognition as "a gift", because it has always been "away" from the awards.
