The National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru (IRTP) and the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation (RTVE) will sign on Monday a cooperation agreement with a view to "the creation of original contents for the celebration of the bicentennial of the independence of Peru" .

The IRTP executive president, Hugo Coya, told Efe Agency today that the signing of the agreement will be made in the presence of King Felipe VI, who will arrive in Peru on Sunday, and Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra.

"This is a technical cooperation agreement and co-productions with a view to the bicentennial (2021), which will include series, documentaries, telefilms and commemorative films of the 200 years of the Republic, and which will have Spanish personnel", Coya said.

The IRTP president indicated that the negotiation between both countries took more than two years and is a key piece of the Peruvian state channel to implement greater contents in their different native languages.

"We want to take advantage of the experience of RTVE in relation to the content with linguistic variety that they develop in various autonomous communities." We aim to advise us to improve the diversity of programs in native languages ​​with a view to the bicentennial, "he said.

Also, he pointed out that the agreement does not have a closed economic transaction and that it will depend exclusively on the approval of audiovisual projects that both institutions have.

"The idea is that the agreement be in relation to the exchange of material that we make, in such a way that we can negotiate audiovisual and radio content, and thus bring both countries closer," he added.

Among the plans set by IRTP in 2021, the year in which the bicentennial of the independence of Peru will be celebrated, is reaching 90% of the Peruvian territory with a national television and radio signal.

Also, work on the launch of TV Peru Internacional for the countries of Spain, France and Italy.

The TV channel Peru Internacional is destined for the 4 million Peruvians living outside their country, and already has a test signal in the United States.

The Peruvian government announced Wednesday that it will allocate 35,000 million soles (about 10,000 million dollars) to promote a hundred emblematic works that are part of the Agenda of Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru, which will be launched this Saturday from the south City of Huamanga.
