Manzanahas announced the Second generation iPhone SE, which follows the iconic design of its predecessors with thestart button, but that incorporatesthe A13 Bionic chipand a system ofsingle lens camerathat takes advantage of the advances of computational photography.
IPhone SE presentsAerospace-grade glass and aluminum design with a black front. The glass-finished back has been manufactured using a seven-layer staining process to “achieve a precise hue and opacity,” as the company reports in a statement. It isdust and water resistant (up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes, according to the IP67 rating.
This device usesa 4.7-inch Retina HD display with True Tone technology, which adjusts the white balance according to the ambient light. It supports playback in Dolby Vision and HDR10, and uses haptic feedback for Quick Actions, such as playing Live Photos, previewing messages, or rearranging apps.
The iPhone SE also incorporates theiconic iPhone home button, which houses a sensor and a finger ring protected by sapphire crystal, compatible with Touch ID. This security feature, as detailed by the company, allows you to fill passwords with iCloud Keychain, log in to apps, authorize purchases from the App Store and carry out transactions with Apple Pay.
Apple A13 Bionic chip
The A13 Bionic, which Apple incorporated in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, “makes everything go smoothly on the iPhone SE”, as pointed out by the company. It features a standalone eight-core Neural Engine capable of processing five trillion operations per second, two machine learning accelerators in the CPU, and the new machine learning controller to find the balance between performance and efficiency.
The iPhone SE issupports wireless charging, using Qi certified chargers,and with fast charge, with which it charges up to 50 percent of the battery in just 30 minutes. It is compatible with sixth generation Wi-Fi networks and 4G LTE Gigabit class, and has dual SIM support with eSIM, so that users can have two phone numbers on the same device.
Single lens camera
The iPhone SE has a single camera system, witha 12-megapixel wide-angle and f / 1.8 aperture, and employs the A13 Bionic chip’s image signal processor and Neural Engine to take advantage of further advances in computational photography, such as Portrait mode, the six Portrait Lighting effects and Depth Control.
A novelty in the new iPhone SE is theNext Generation Smart HDR, which recognizes subjects that appear in the frame and readjusts the light to give more naturalness and polish the details of lights and shadows.
