The judicial authority confirmed yesterday that the fingerprinting carried out on the corpse of the little girl confirmed, without a doubt, that it is Olivia. The Civil Guard investigators consider as one of the hypotheses that Gimeno suffocated his eldest daughter at home, and that he did it in the same way with his sister Anna. But the results of the autopsy are yet to be known, which will determine the cause.
The father was in the home of the girls’ grandparents, in a central residential area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, from which he left at 7:30 p.m. And, later, a neighbor who lives next to the Gimeno farm in the town of Igueste de Candelaria confirmed that on April 27, between 7:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Olivia and Anna were on the businessman’s property, at number 23 of the Camino Cruz Colorada. Based on what is known so far, from that time on, no one ever sees or hears the minors again.
The members of the Judicial Police and the Criminalistics Laboratory did not find in the different records in Tomás Gimeno’s house any anxiolytics or other types of drugs or toxic products harmful to his health or that of his daughters, Anna and Olivia. This was explained by sources of the investigation to Efe, which does confirm that they only found painkillers at home. The agents link the presence of this drug in Gimeno’s house with the fact that he had a fall when he was practicing motocross on a farm in Güímar 40 days before he killed the girls. As a result of that accident, Tomás suffered a blow that affected several ribs. However, this injury was not serious, as he did not require hospital admission.
The investigation indicates that the father committed the murder at home and then moved the bodies
In addition, based on what has transpired so far, in the house, the garden or the orchards of Igueste, in the car and in his boat, no blood or biological remains were found, which would have provided indications that he had ended the their daughters’ lives by stabbing or hitting.
In any case, everything indicates that said address was the place chosen by the father to commit the murder of the little girls, without direct witnesses. The parent was aware that the minors had no defense option. Afterwards, Gimeno put the bodies inside bags and took these to the trunk of the Audi A3.
Gimeno carried the girls in sports bags from the car to their boat in the Marina Tenerife marina. The guard did not see the minors walking with their father at any time, because he carried them dead in said bags.
Once on the boat he allegedly used duct tape to tie up some effects. The sports bag in which Olivia appeared and another that was found empty were tied to the anchor of the boat. Both were thrown overboard about three miles off the coast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and fell to a depth of about 1,000 meters. Everything indicates that Tomás disposed of the bodies between 9:50 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on April 27, in the first outing he made with his boat. Yesterday the bodies of Anna or Tomás were not located, despite the fact that Ángeles Alvariño continues with its tracking work 24 hours a day.
