Instability reaches the islands with rains and without discarding haze - La Provincia


The State Meteorological Agency foresees for the coming days a slight instability of climate with the arrival to the Archipelago of new rains which in general terms will be weak. However, showers are not ruled out that can be locally strong in points of the south and in the interior of the island of Gran Canaria, as well as in areas of the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

During the day of this Tuesday, October 23, cloudy or covered skies will prevail, and Occasional storms are not ruled out during the second half of the day, as Aemet explains, in the easternmost islands of the Canary Islands.

In this same area, the Meteorology Statal Agency it predicts the arrival of calima, although it qualifies that this dust in suspension will cross the Canary skies with very low intensity and it will do it during the last hours of the day.

No warnings

As for temperatures, the meteorological agency foresees a slight rise of the thermometers, which will register in the two Canarian capitals, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz De Tenerife, maximum temperatures of 28 degrees and minimum of 20 degrees.

The Aemet has not activated any type of warning for the next days. East Monday only the island of La Palma was on yellow notice for rains. In fact, 15.4 liters per square meter were recorded in points of Tijarafe, 12, 4 in Puntagorda, 11 liters per square meter in the town of El Paso and 6.6 in the town of Fuencaliente. However, the highest rainfall was recorded yesterday in the Tenerife North airport area, where up to 16.5 liters of water per square meter were registered, according to data from the Aemet.

In relation to the wind, Meteorology Statal Agency predicts strong gusts that could reach 70 kilometers per hour in the summits of Tenerife and tomorrow, Wednesday collapses that could exceed 85 kilometers per hour in the same area. In the rest of the archipelago, the wind will blow from the southern component from weak to moderate, and in the high and mid-altitude areas it will blow from the moderate southwest.

Lanzarote

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies. Probable squalls, without ruling out that locally they are strong and accompanied by an occasional storm mainly during the morning and early afternoon. Do not rule out light heat at the end of the day. Temperatures with few changes. Low to moderate south component wind.

Minimum and maximum expected temperatures (ºC): Arrecife 19 – 26

Fuerteventura

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies. Probable squalls, without ruling out that locally they are strong and accompanied by an occasional storm mainly during the morning and early afternoon. Do not rule out light heat at the end of the day. Temperatures with few changes. Low to moderate south component wind.

Minimum and maximum expected temperatures (ºC): Puerto del Rosario 20 – 26

Gran Canaria

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies. Probable squalls, without ruling out that they are locally strong in the southern half and inland areas and that they may be accompanied by an occasional storm mainly from midday and during the afternoon. Do not rule out light heat at the end of the day. Temperatures without changes or slight increase in the maximum. Wind of the southern component weak to moderate, more intense in east and west extremes. In midlands and high areas of the moderate southwest with intervals of strong. Breezes on north and south coasts.

Tenerife

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Probability of weak showers or showers. Temperatures without changes or slight rise. Wind of loose southern component in general, more intense in the northwest and northeast extremes. In midlands and high areas of the moderate southwest, being strong in central summits. Breezes on coasts.

Minimum and maximum expected temperatures (ºC): Santa Cruz de Tenerife 21 – 28

La Gomera

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Probability of weak showers or showers. Temperatures with few changes or slight rise. Wind of loose southern component in general, more intense in the east and west ends. In high areas of the moderate southwest. Breezes on coasts.

Minimum and maximum expected temperatures (ºC): San Sebastián de La Gomera 19 – 27

The Palm

Predominance of cloudy or covered skies tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Probability of weak showers or squalls, with low probability of being accompanied by an occasional storm in the early hours. Temperatures without changes or slight rise. Wind of loose southern component in general, more intense in northwest and northeast extremes. In medium and high areas of the southwest, weak to moderate. Breezes on coasts.
