Beyond the economy and politics, the “life stories” of characters from culture, television and other areas will be the protagonists of the edition of this year’s Global Business America Forum.
This was highlighted this Thursday to Efe the president of the America Business Forum, Ignacio González, after the presentation of the event that will take place at the Convention Center of Punta del Este (southeast of Uruguay) on February 7.
“One does not necessarily be inspired by personalities that are equal to one but are inspired by different people, who are in different worlds,” said Gonzalez, who also pointed out that personalities from culture, cinema, fashion or sports will be present .
This event seeks to project the future of the region and generate instances of interaction and shared work among the global leaders who participate.
During the presentation conference that took place this Thursday in Punta del Este, they highlighted that this forum is committed to the issues that matter today such as innovation, technological development, gender equality and the sustainable world.
Among the speakers that will participate this year are the Uruguayan filmmaker Federico Álvarez, director of several Hollywood films, and the Chilean actor Benjamín Vicuña, star of the Spanish series “Vis a vis”, as well as the Italian luxury business expert Giuseppe Cipriani
The renowned journalist and lecturer of Cuban origin Ismael Cala will be the one who carries out the event acting as a presenter, interviewer and also having a space to make an exhibition to the public present.
Cala, of Canadian and American nationality, explained to Efe that his role as a forum driver will allow him to “convey to the audience the life lessons, successes, failures, of those leaders who are going to be there.”
The America Business Forum will celebrate its fifth and second edition in Punta del Este. In the previous one, prominent regional figures participated, such as former Argentine soccer player Gabriel Batistuta or Uruguayan actress and singer Natalia Oreiro.
For its part, the Uruguayan Minister of Tourism, Liliam Kechichian, highlighted to Efe the impact that forums like this have for the Country Brand.
The director of the investment and export promotion agency of Uruguay, Uruguay XXI, Antonio Carámbula, spoke in the same vein.
“(The America Business Forum) is an ideal stained glass window to present the quality of Uruguay as a business hub,” said Carámbula.
This event, which according to the organization is the “largest global forum of leaders” in Latin America, will bring together more than 5,000 government authorities, private sector representatives and NGOs.
They also pointed out that this day will allow to bring direct investment to Uruguay and position the country “as a benchmark for the sector” in the continent. They also believe that the forum will allow the promotion of exports and the promotion of the “investment ecosystem”.
