Inflation in China up 2.3% year-on-year in March



China's consumer price index (CPI), the main indicator of inflation, rose 2.3 percent year-on-year in March, eight tenths above the growth recorded the previous month, according to data published today by the National Statistics Office (ONE)

This institution also disclosed on Thursday that the production price index (PPI), which measures wholesale inflation, rose by 0.4% year-on-year in March, three tenths above the growth registered in February.

In the second month of the year, the CPI increased 1.5% year-on-year, while in the global calculation of 2018 it rose 2.1%, far from the official forecast of 3%.
