Infanta Sofía turns 13 today

The Infanta Sofia, the youngest daughter of the kings, is celebrating this Wednesday, April 29, 13 years old, an anniversary that she will celebrate with her parents and her sister, Princess Leonor, at the Zarzuela Palace.

It is his first birthday after his first public interventions, since last Thursday, April 23, Book Day, he participated with Doña Leonor in the continuous reading of Don Quixote that, as a result of the confinement to face the a coronavirus pandemic, the Círculo de Bellas Artes organized telematically.

That same day, also with the princess, he sent a message of encouragement in the face of the pandemic and of thanks to all the groups that are on the front line to deal with the disease.

In her words, the Infanta hoped that "all this will happen soon" and affirmed that "it does not take much to realize the enormous difficulty" that Spain and other countries are experiencing due to the severity of the pandemic.

It was the first time that the daughters of the kings could be seen since the state of alarm began, who during this time have continued their studies from the Zarzuela Palace through online tutoring.

The infanta's first words in public represent a turning point in an institutional presence that is expected to be slow but increasingly growing.

He has participated in various acts with his parents and sister and since last February he has his first official portrait after Zarzuela will renew the photos of the members of the Royal Family.

Her 13th birthday can be celebrated this time with her parents and sister after the previous one could not be there because the queen was on a cooperation trip in Mozambique.
