The Spanish Association of Retail Sellers of Fuels and Fuels (Aevecar) requested on March 20 the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to establish «reasonable minimum services due to the decrease in billing due to the reduction of mobility and the health risk for our employees that maintaining all open service stations".

The demand for fuels has decreased considerably, currently being 25-30% on highways and 10-15% in urban areas. «And yet, and due to legal imperative, the entire service station network must remain open, almost 12,000 installations, which supposes an unnecessary risk for the more than 50,000 workers in the sector and for the rest of the population, since they are made to leave the house without it being necessary, "says the president of this association, Alejandro Ripoll.

This request was made by the two large employers in the sector, Aevecar and Ceees. “We proposed that minimum services be established to comfortably meet the needs of demand, also allowing all those companies not included in them to remain open if they considered it appropriate. To date we have not received any response », Ripoll stresses.

For this reason, "we once again urge the Government to implement these measures as soon as possible and we put ourselves at your disposal to collaborate with the Administration in everything they consider necessary ».

From Aevecar remember that «all service stations with workers, attended and safe stations, are offering the best services so that carriers can carry out their activity with the best quality: services prepared for cleaning, food service, areas of rest, etc ... »

And they highlight that «the companies in the sector, family micro-businesses in many cases, are suffering huge losses due to lack of activity that entails the strict and necessary confinement measures, "stressed the president of Aevecar.
