The former Real Madrid player, Asier Illarramendi, has signed the manifesto "Gure Esku Dago", a separatist platform that demands the suspension of the trial of the 12 Catalan separatists that has begun this Tuesday in the Supreme Court of Madrid.

This document was signed by 68 "personalities" of the Basque society, being the current footballer of the Real Sociedad the only athlete that has signed his signature in it.

The manifesto claims "The immediate release of imprisoned Catalan sovereign social and political leaders", considering "his imprisonment unjust". In addition, the 68 signatories call for "the cancellation of the legal, judicial and procedural exceptionalities, putting an end to all causes related to the holding of the referendum on October 1, 2017."

On the other hand, in the third point of the document, it is "A call for dialogue and negotiation, so that a political solution based on respect for the will of citizens and democratic values is possible. We must open the way to the political solution, on the basis that citizens can freely and democratically decide their future, "says the manifesto.
