Illa says they will not “shake their legs” in the fight against tobacco

The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has said that from his department they will address all public health problems, including the fight against smoking, without “trembling their legs” and has assured that they will go “one step further “applying a set of measures to toughen the tobacco law.

This was stated on Thursday at the end of the meeting he has held with anti-smoking organizations, whom he has informed of his plans for tobacco law, which, as he advanced in an interview with EFE, intends to harden with a review of the taxation and other measures on new ways of smoking such as vaping.

“We must go one step further to apply a set of additional measures (…) We will not compromise on whatever it is to work for the benefit of the public health of the Spanish. All public health problems we will address based in the scientific evidence and without shaking our legs, “said Illa.
