Ikea enters the delivery of food at home through Just Eat

The Swedish firm Ikea has signed a collaboration agreement with the digital food delivery platform Just Eat so that it can deliver the food products it sells to its customers to its homes while the state of alarm lasts and its physical centers remain closed .

As Just Eat has reported, "this is a temporary service" that was activated last week and will continue for the duration of the current closure of Ikea's physical stores.

In addition, it is planned to activate the distribution of the most iconic ready-to-eat dishes in your restaurant in the near future. It is the first time in the history of Ikea that it delivers home food products from its stores.

The service, which is provided from the Ikea Goya store, will be available at this first time from Wednesday to Sunday, and then it will run possibly all week.

In this way, according to Just Eat, users will be able to enjoy more than 80 Ikea Food products at their homes - located within a 15-minute driving radius of the store.

In addition, it is planned that users will also soon have access through the Just Eat platform (web and app) to the offer of prepared dishes from the Ikea restaurant.

The director of Ikea Food, Carlos Cocheteux, stressed that the current moment requires reinvestment "to respond to the needs" of customers.

For his part, the CEO of Just Eat in Spain, Patrik Bergareche, has pointed out that the agreement with Ikea is "historic" and allows it to improve its offer and "expand the variety of types of cuisine" that it offers to its users.
