Iglesias denounces a "coup d'etat" and shows his support for Evo Morales

The secretary general of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, has described tonight as "coup d'etat" the resignation of Bolivian President Evo Morales, to whom he has sent his support.

"Coup d'etat in Bolivia. Shameful that there are means that say that the army has resigned the president. In the last 14 years Bolivia has improved all its social and economic indicators. All our support for the Bolivian people and Evo Morales," Pablo wrote Churches in the social network Twitter.

Morales confirmed his resignation after almost 14 years in power in a video aimed at citizens from an undetermined place and after several cascading resignations of the majority of his Government.

The country faced a serious crisis since the elections of October 20, in which Evo Morales was proclaimed winner and in which the opposition denounced fraud, which triggered hard clashes that left three dead and about 400 wounded.
