The dating app Tinder has launched its new feature 'Plus One' ('plus one', in English), with which it seeks to help its users to meet other people to be your companions to attend weddings.

From this Thursday, Tinder users will be able to indicate in the explore tab of the application if they are looking for escorts for a wedding or if they themselves are willing to be the 'plus one' from other people, as the company has reported in a statement.

The new function is part of explore, a new section that seeks that its members can share experiences with people with the same tastes

WeddingWire specialized platform for weddings expects an increase of up to 20 percent in weddings in the years 2021 and 2022, due to the ceremonies postponed by the pandemic, and this coincides with a growth of mentions to 'plus one' of 45 percent on Tinder profiles.

Tinder has assured that "the traditional rule of only taking a companion to a wedding when in a relationship does not fit with modern dating habits," and notes that 35 percent of wedding guests between 22 and 26 years old ask If they can bring a companion before confirming attendance.

The new feature is part of explore, a new section within Tinder that launched in September that seeks that its members can share experiences with people with the same tastes.
