The X Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Labor, Employment and Security will address for two days in the colonial city of La Antigua the importance of a decent and sustainable employment.
This meeting, which will be held under the slogan "Decent, inclusive and sustainable employment", begins this Thursday and ends on Friday with the reading of a proposal for a political declaration, discussion, approval and signature that must be submitted to the 26th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government of November.
During these two days, the ministers and representatives will hold four plenary sessions, where they will address issues as varied as the generation of decent jobs, working relations in Latin America, the challenge in the youngest or innovative initiatives to extend social protection in the future.
This event is organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Guatemala, the Ibero-American Social Security Organization and the Ibero-American General Secretariat and will bring together the ministers and representatives of the 22 countries of Ibero-America, 19 of Latin America, of Castilian and Portuguese languages, as well as from Spain, Portugal and Andorra.
The XXVI Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State will be held on November 15 and 16, 2018 in the Guatemalan city of Antigua with the slogan "A prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Latin America."
Guatemala was, along with Nicaragua, Honduras and Andorra, the country that had not yet hosted an Ibero-American Summit since they began to be held in 1991 as a space for reflection on international challenges and for the promotion of regional cooperation, coordination and solidarity.
In the event of this Thursday and Friday will participate the Minister of Labor, Migration and Social Security of Spain, Magdalena Valerio, who arrived in Guatemala on Tuesday, when she visited the Workshop School of cooperation in the capital.
And he plans to leave this Saturday, after meeting with the Spanish Charitable Society at the Sanatorium del Pilar.
