Iberia cancels its flight to Caracas on Monday due to power cuts

Updated:
The Spanish company Iberia has canceled its Monday flight from Madrid to Caracas, with stops in Santo Domingo, due to power cuts affecting Venezuela since last Thursday, including the airport that serves the capital.
According to Efe sources from Iberia, the company will inform affected passengers via text messages and emails for their relocation.
The cancellation of Iberia flight to Caracas comes after this Saturday members of the crew of Air Europa suffered a robbery attempt when they went in a van to a hotel in Caracas where they were going to spend the night.
The attempted robbery ended without incident and the workers have already returned to Madrid.
The Government of Nicolás Maduro announced on Sunday a second suspension of classes and work activities due to the blackout that occurred on Thursday afternoon and that has already exceeded 72 hours, although some areas of Caracas have electricity intermittently.
