Hoteliers on the Costa del Sol estimate an occupancy of only 36.33% in July and 42.71% in August

The Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol, (Aehcos) has reported this Friday the forecasts made by its associated establishments provide figures “not at all hopeful”, directly influenced by the Covid-19. Specifically, from this association they have estimated that occupancy will be 36.33% in July and 42.71% in August.

Aehcos has 348 associated establishments and a total of 88,423 places in the province of Malaga. Those that are already open or will do so until the end of this month will be 155, representing 43,215 places; hence the occupation data provided by the employers.

Of these occupancy percentages, it has been estimated that un 16% are foreigners in July and 26% are international clients during the month of August.

By areas, in July the highest occupation, taking into account the establishments opened in the province, it occurs in the Estepona area, with 43.92%; followed by Benalmádena (43.21%) ,; Malaga capital (43.05%); Marbella (40.21%); Nerja and its surroundings (38.95%); Axarquía (31.12%); Fuengirola (28.84%), Mijas (23.74%) and Torremolinos (23%).

In August the number increases except in Fuengirola, Malaga capital and the axarchic region, according to the data from Aehcos, ranking first again the Estepona area, with an estimated average occupation, according to open accommodation, of 64.28%.

Follow him Benalmádena (55.54%), Marbella (46.62%), Málaga (42.66%), Nerja (41.94%), Torremolinos (31.34%), Fuengirola (27.88%), the Axarquía region (25.96%) and Mijas (25.72%).
