The London Heathrow airport, the busiest in Europe, warned today of possible flight delays due to a technical problem in lighting the runways.
The airport, located west of the British capital, said in a statement that it works to solve the problem, but asked passengers to contact their airlines to see if their flights have been affected.
"Our technical teams are investigating a technical problem with the lighting system of the airport runways, we have activated the contingency plans and both runways are currently open and operational, although we anticipate that there will be some delays at the airport during the morning," He pointed to the note.
"For the latest information, passengers should check the status of their flights with their airlines before traveling to the airport," the airport said.
In his note, Heathrow asked passengers to "apologize" for the impact this may have on their travels.
