The Ministry of Health has notified 23,580 new cases with coronavirus. This is the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic. It also adds 173 deaths with the virus, 790 in the last week. Since the health alert began in Spain, 1,160,083 infections and 35,639 deaths have been detected with COVID-19.

There are now seven autonomous communities that exceed 1,000 new cases a day, two of them are over 5,000. These are Catalonia (5,447), Andalusia (5,302), Madrid (2,452), Castilla y León (1,908), Comunitat Valenciana (1,908), Castilla-La Mancha (1,181) and Aragón (1,172).
The incidence at the state level stands at 468 out of 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. The most affected regions are the Autonomous City of Melilla and Navarra. Both exceed 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with 1,290 and 1,172, respectively.
The autonomous communities are closed
In this situation, several autonomous communities have decreed perimeter confinements of your entire region. This has been the case of La Rioja, Navarra, Aragón, Euskadi, Asturias, Melilla, Murcia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia and Cantabria. This Thursday, they have joined Cantabria and Catalunya. The latter has also announced the confinement of all its municipalities during the weekends.
For its part, the Community of Madrid has chosen to close the region only for the next two weekends, which coincide with two bridges: Todos los Santos – from October 30 to November 2 – and La Almudena – from November 7 to 9. The Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso has made this decision, as stated by the Minister of Health of Castilla y León, contrary to what was agreed in the meeting on Wednesday with the regional presidents of Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, who have arranged the perimeter closures in both regions for fifteen days.
But Madrid has not been the only region to adopt this unit of time to confine its territory. Also the Government of the Autonomous City of Ceuta has adopted perimeter confinement only during weekends, as announced in its official bulletin.
The state of alarm decree contemplates a minimum of seven days for perimeter confinements, although the central government you have ended up accepting the option to close for fewer days.
