The archipelago has registered 1,265 new positives since Tuesday, and the seven-day cumulative infection rate has increased by 57 points

Health notified this Friday eight new deaths from covid since last Tuesday in the Canary Islands and
1,265 new positives among those over 60 years of age. With these data, the accumulated incidence in this sector of the population suffers a strong increase,
increasing by 57 points the seven-day rate and
61 the one of 14.

The positive data is the decrease in the
care pressure with 19 patients with covid admitted less than three days ago.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islandsfollowing the new indicators included in the Covid-19 Surveillance and Control Strategy, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities, reports that since the last data update last Tuesday they have been registered in the archipelago
1,265 new positives among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.

Therefore, the accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to
60,182 people. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at
14 days stands at 790.41 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and 7 days at 434.67.

There are 232 registered people; 11 in the ICU and the rest on the ward

Currently, in the Archipelago there are
232 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 11 are in the ICU and the rest, 221, on the ward.

On the other hand, the Canary Islands register a total of
eight deaths since Wednesday,
four in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria,
one in Lanzarote and one in Fuerteventura. The deceased persons, aged between 71 and 94 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
