A man killed his 79-year-old woman this morning by allegedly suffocating her inside a house in the La Isleta neighborhood in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The author of the crime recognized the crime and turned himself in to the Police.
The man, about 55 years old, called the Coordination and Emergency Center (112) to recognize that he had suffocated his wife, 79, according to the sources consulted.
The events have occurred around seven in the morning this Saturday when 112 received a call that a woman was unconscious at home. Several patrols of this body and of the Local Police, as well as a medical ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC).
The sanitarians tried to resuscitate the victim, without success, certifying death. For their part, the agents arrested her husband, sources close to the investigation said.
Apparently the woman suffered from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, according to residents of the area, who heard her during the afternoon yesterday screaming that she wanted to be taken to the street.
With the murder of this woman, the Canary Islands recorded 93 victims of sexist violence.
