The husband of María Dolores de Cospedal had a telephone conversation with former commissioner Villarejo a day after the meeting that the three had at the headquarters of the PP. In it he said that the ex-secretary general of the party got a good impression of the meeting and that "her boss" also, according to the audios published on Tuesday the Moncloa.com portal. The only head of Cospedal at that time was the president of the party, Mariano Rajoy.
"How about the partner's impression?" Asked Villarejo, referring to Moncloa.com to Cospedal. "Good, good, good", answered Ignacio López del Hierro, and continued: "His and then that of his boss, who also commented the business to his boss, as is normal". The ex-commissioner then asked him if that boss "understood the thing", to which Cospedal's husband replied: "Yes, he agrees that this line of action should be developed".
María Dolores de Cospedal announced this Monday his resignation from the position he had in the Executive of the Popular Party after the successive revelations about their relationship with Villarejo. However, for the time being she will continue to be a deputy and president of the Foreign Commission of the Congress of Deputies.
This Monday it was also known that he spoke with the ex-commissioner about spy on the brother of the then Minister of the Interior, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba. The current general secretary of the PP, Teodoro García Egea, avoided answering a dozen questions about Cospedal and did not clarify if the party's management has asked him to deliver his deputy's record.
