Hamilton, "pole" and Ferrari, disaster

Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) signed the best time in the third qualifying round for the German Formula One Grand Prix and will start from the pole after not finding Ferrari opposition, with his two drivers out of the fight by two mechanical problems. The German Sebastian Vettel was last for not being able to mark any time in Q1. The Monegasque Charles Leclerc did progress until Q3, but he had to stay in the garage and accept a tenth place that he knows little by little given his performance in free practice. The unfortunate Saturday of his opponents in Hockenheim relaunched Lewis Hamilton. The World Cup leader will start from the pole thanks to a time of 1: 11,767. The Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) completed the first line, since he improved the registration of Finnish Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes). The other Red Bull, the French Pierre Gasly, will fill the second row. The Finn Kimi Raikkonen placed his Alfa Romeo in a surprising fifth position, with the Frenchman Romain Grosjean (Haas) in sixth place.

The Spaniard Carlos Sainz (McLaren) was satisfied with his seventh place on the grid on Sunday, with the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) at his side. German Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) was ninth in the qualifying session, with Leclerc closing the top-10. The Monegasque evidences the misfortune of Ferrari. The German Sebastian Vettel could not even roll a lap in the qualifying session due to a failure in the turbo of his car. The Italian team, which aspired to 'pole', sees its 10th and 20th pilots.
