This is a new milestone in the vaccination campaign, which has accelerated notably in recent months thanks to the arrival of new doses in recent weeks.

After the doses given in the last hours, 15 million people already have the complete vaccination schedule in Spain, 31.9% of the population.

Spain has reached another of the objectives set by the Government in the vaccination campaign after having surpassed the barrier of 15 million fully immunized people (two doses of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca or one of Janssen). This goal arrives, however, several days later than expected by the Executive, which was intended to fulfill it in the third week of June.

By age group, 47% of all those over 40 years of age already have the complete vaccination schedule (two doses of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca or a single Janssen) while 81.9% of that age group have received at least one dose.

In addition, 100% of those over 80 years of age have been fully vaccinated for a few weeks and almost all of those in the next priority group, 70 to 79. Meanwhile, vaccination of the following age ranges is progressing: 93.2% of the 60 to 69 group have one dose and 34.6% the complete regimen, while 86.3% of those between 50 and 59 have one dose and 595% the complete regimen.

Fruit of the good vaccination rate, Last week the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, set a date for the end of one of the most symbolic measures of the pandemic: the use of the mask outdoors. It will be on June 26.

Other neighboring countries, such as France, have also adopted that decision in recent days. “Our streets, our faces will regain their normal appearance in the coming days. We will thus return to enjoy a life on the street without a mask,” celebrated the president, who has convened an extraordinary Council of Ministers this Thursday for the approval of the measure .
