Hacienda will return to Telefónica 702 million euros for the amounts paid in excess for the Corporation Tax between 2008 and 2011, following a ruling by the Central Economic-Administrative Court, the company reported Friday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) .
In the communiqué sent to the CNMV, the group presided by José María Álvarez-Pallete explains that by a partial decision of the Central Economic-Administrative Court these amounts must be paid "for taxes paid in excess in said years".
The company, despite the favorable resolution, values a resource: "Telefónica is considering filing an appeal for, among other reasons, the non-inclusion of interest for late payment".
On January 23, Telefónica reported that according to a partially estimated resolution of the Central Economic-Administrative Court, the "treasury" should return the amounts paid in excess in the liquidations of those years and that these remained to be quantified.
In a statement sent to the CNMV on Friday, the operator explains that in the resolution enforcement agreement it is ordered to return 702 million euros for taxes paid in excess between 2008 and 2011.
