Gran Canaria Digital Space has just opened until February 21 the registration phase for the seminar called Communication of audiovisual projects: keys to success, which will be taught in March and April by the producer and journalist Anna Marquis and the audiovisual consultant Carolina Gomez. The initiative promoted by the aforementioned center dependent on the Ministry of Culture of the Cabildo Grancanario, it is developed within the framework of the training plan activated jointly with the Society of Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria (SPEGC).
The seminar, which combines theory and practice in its contents, will take place in two phases, including in its program the two essential aspects of the information on the projects under development: oral communication (the pitch) that refers to what we need to explain and the written one, referring to what we want to explain.
Marqués, delegate of the Association of Women Filmmakers CIMA in Catalonia, and Gómez, during the last ten years coordinator of MiradasDoc Market, will work in this seminar with professionals from the audiovisual sector and people interested in developing a project and want to familiarize themselves with the necessary techniques to capture it and communicate it efficiently. It is essential that each of the participants contribute their own audiovisual project, if possible in the development process, as well as an audiovisual piece (teaser) of maximum 3 minutes. The organization of the seminar will communicate the final list of admitted on March 6.
The seminar is held on March 31, April 1 and 2 in the afternoon (from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.) for the contents related to project development, oral communication techniques and presentation dossier, and on December 28 and 29 April (from 4.30pm to 8.30pm), for those who have to do with supervised pitching simulation of fiction and nonfiction projects.
Anna Marquis She is a training journalist, cultural manager by inclination, producer by profession and teacher by vocation. She has been an advisor to audiovisual project selection committees for public support for the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Balearic Culture Institute. With a long history in large Catalan production companies, she has also worked for several years in the television sector as in Canal + and has been General Director of Canal Historia for Spain and Portugal. He also has extensive teaching experience in several Universities of Barcelona and participated in various areas in important festivals in our country. She is currently a delegate of the Association of Women Filmmakers CIMA in Catalonia.
For its part, Carolina Gomez She is a professional with twenty-four years of experience in the audiovisual sector. She has been responsible for the documentary area of Canal + (today Movistar +), head of purchasing and programming for the Studio Universal (fiction) channel and Director of the Odyssey channel for Spain and Portugal.
Producer delegated in these title channels as The devil of the bushes (BBC, Nat Geo and C +), or Chillida: Art and dreams, by Susana Chillida, among others. For the past ten years she has also been the coordinator of MiradasDoc Market, within the framework of the MiradasDoc International Documentary Film Festival of Guía de Isora on the island of Tenerife. He has been a juror in various festivals (Documenta MADRID, FICMA – International Environment Festival of Catalonia, The Festivalito de La Palma, and Cinema Jove of Short Films of Valencia). Since 2007 she is an audiovisual consultant for both public and private entities.
