There is little more than a month left for the final season of Game of Thrones monopolize the television conversation (they start at dawn from April 14 to April 15 on HBO and Movistar +). Just over a month to theorize about what will happen in those last six episodes. In the same way that after the end of the seventh season, speculations about what was coming flourished, the trailer that HBO launched yesterday stirred up fans who were avid for assumptions.
Although the advance is not really revealing in terms of the plot, there are followers who have analyzed each image to try to find out what each expression of the characters or the situations that are guessed. If you are one of those who do not want to know theories in advance or of those who have preferred not to see the trailer, you are in time to get away from this article. If, on the other hand, you like to play trying to guess what will happen, here we compile some of the theories circulating on the Internet following the two minutes of trailer of the eighth season of the series. Mind you, it would not be the first time that the theories of the fans become spoiler of what will really happen.
- The mother of all battles arrives
It had already advanced and a few days ago Entertainment Weekly gave more details of the Battle of Winterfell. Although it is not yet known which chapter will take place, being directed by Miguel Sapochnik (who also commanded the Battle of the Bastards), it will be 3 or 5. The biggest battle ever made for television or cinema will happen at night and in the trailer you can see some images that could belong to that moment. Some of the fighters are Davos, Brienne, Podrick, Jorah, Gendry and Gray Worm. A passionate kiss of the latter with Missandei sounds to final farewell of the couple. Actually, taking into account the series we are talking about and which is the final season, death will be more than present with total security.
- Jaime Lannister, on the other side?
The final battle will be the confrontation between the living and the dead, whose arrival at the gates of Winterfell is also sensed with some horse legs at the end of the trailer. And in the advance, Jaime Lannister remembers that he promised to fight with the living and plans to fulfill that promise, even if that means turning his back on Cersei, his sister and lover.
- Two riders for the dragons
The dragons are very present in the advancement of the new chapters. Dragons flying, dragons throwing fire, dragons leaving open-mouthed Arya and Sansa ... One of the most commented images shows Jon and Daenerys approaching Drogo and Rhaegal. We already know that Jon has Targaryen blood, so it is not too risky to think that at some point we will see Jon riding one of the two dragons. Some fans have also speculated who will be the owner of the huge bones around which are Drogo and Rhaegal. Viserion?
- The tears? of Cersei
Without opening her mouth in the advance, the queen Cersei is another of the characters who have given more than talk in the form of theories after the trailer. In one of the most striking images, she is seen alone in the distance sitting on El Hierro Throne. In another moment, cup in hand, twists the gesture between the tears and the smile. Some have seen here the pain of Cersei for the loss of Jaime's support. Another doubt, does this image deny that the queen is pregnant, as she told Tyrion at the end of last season?
- The role of Gendry
Although so far has not had much relevance in the series, the bastard son of Robert Baratheon could play an important role in the chapters that come, and actually appears in the trailer, reminding us that it is a pawn that is still in play. Could the candidate be blocked to the Throne? Who is your mother? In the advance you can even see him forging a valyrio steel sword ... However, the one that does not appear in the promotional photos or in the images of Entertainment Weekly suggests that perhaps its relevance is not going to be too much.
