Galicia closes the hospitality industry in its seven large metropolitan areas that it will keep confined for a month

The Government of Alberto Núñez Feijóo has decided to close 60 Galician towns for a month and close the hotel business, except for take-out services. The decision, announced by the President of the Galician Government, has been adopted after two days of meetings with “intense debate” within the clinical committee that advises the Galician baron of the PP. The order will take effect from 3:00 p.m. next Friday and its effects are expected for one month. The seven main Galician cities are in the epicenters of the areas that are closed in what supposes a division between the urban and rural world, as two scenarios of different behavior in relation to the evolution of the pandemic.

In this way, the seven main Galician cities and the municipalities that make up their areas of influence are closed. With the exception of Lugo, the only city that closes individually, the Feijóo Government has opted for a long-term closure designed on the framework of urban almonds.

“This is here to stay for thirty days,” Feijóo assured when asked about the possibility of lifting the adopted decision before that date. The head of the Galician Government has indicated that the objective of the Xunta is to lower the “worrying” contagion curve, “avoid home confinement and try to save the Christmas campaign.”
