'Gali', canine bodyguard of a battered woman - La Provincia

'Gali', a Belgian shepherd, has spent 20 days watching over C., a victim of sexist violence in Galicia. The canine bodyguard is trained to protect and accompany the woman, and to react in a dangerous situation repelling aggressions. It also gives emotional support in low moments. It is one of the dogs that the Mariscal Foundation makes available, free of charge, to battered women.

Yesterday they visited the mayor of Ourense, Gonzalo Jácome, and the mayor of Social Affairs, Eugenia Díaz, to ask that these dogs have free access to all places and services, as is already the case with blind people's guides. The City promises support.
