The program starts tomorrow Saturday, at 8:00 p.m., in the Plaza de Santiago with a concert by the Municipal Music Band of the Real Ciudad de Gáldar, in which a repertoire of iconic film soundtracks will be performed with images that will be screened in a screen. Along with Armas, the Minister of Culture of the Gran Canaria Council, Guacimara Medina, the Mayor of Gáldar and Minister of Government and Presidency, Teodoro Sosa, and the Councilor of Culture of Gáldar, Julio Mateo, attended the presentation.
Some of the most valued proposals of horror cinema are included in ‘The darkest hour’
The festival structures its program around the drama of current migratory movements in its section Towards the Canary Islands, and some of the most innovative cinematographic proposals of current horror and fantasy films in its section The darkest hour, to which is added its already popular cinema-express initiative called Gáldar Rueda. At this edition, 425 short films and 70 feature films from more than 15 different countries were presented, of which 25 titles from fourteen different countries will be screened. To that we must add workshop and talks with different guests. This year the festival will also feature the actors and actresses Itziar Castro, Lola Rodríguez, Brays Efe and Carlos Bardem. The interpreter from Madrid will receive the Guayarmina de Honor of this edition in a closing gala presented by Carmen Alcayde and Kiko Barroso.
