FULP announces 30 scholarships for the Expert in Digital Skills – La Provincia


The University Foundation of Las Palmas (FULP) has presented the first course of University Expert in Digital Competencies that will allow graduates of any professional branch, regardless of whether it is not technological, to acquire knowledge to be "digitally competent", as recommended the European Union, and to be able to access new opportunities, both formative and professional. An offer that is accompanied by the call for 30 scholarships for this training.

In this context, the Las Palmas University Foundation has wanted to go one step further and promote training according to these needs to help train those who can lead the digital transformation. For this, he has designed a postgraduate degree focused on the five areas that make up this transformation, which revolve around information, communication, content creation, security and problem solving.

This was stated during the presentation of the new title, in which the president of the FULP, Carlos Estévez; the Vice Chancellor of Degrees and Permanent Training of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Marcos Peñate; the director of Private Banking at Banco Sabadell in the Canary Islands, representing the Banco Sabadell Foundation, Jorge Cisneros; the director of the DISA Foundation, Sara Mateos; and the director of the MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation, Esther Martel.

The program, which will begin at the end of October, responds to the demand of companies that require their employees to handle the essential knowledge to face the digital transformation. Therefore, it is aimed at graduates of any professional area and already has a high demand, with registered members of the branches of law, geography, economics, labor relations and even officials and entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises, among others.

Precisely, the collaboration of these entities has allowed 30 scholarships to be offered for those students who meet a series of requirements, and in addition, the training is 100% bonus for companies through the State Foundation for Employment Training (Fundae ).

The president of the University Foundation said that the objective of this initiative is to "democratize knowledge in digital skills and bring society closer to trends in this area, but above all, to give students the opportunity to have a training according to what companies are looking for, which is why it is a journey through all those digital competences, a general approach to what is currently happening in a scenario of change and uncertainty. "

The director of the DISA Foundation, expressed the need to "support initiatives that promote this culture of change". The director of the Mapfre Foundation Guanarteme, stressed the priority of this entity to support the training of young people and professionals in the Canary Islands, "and we try to do it in the areas or subjects that we know increase the chances of access to employment." And the director of Private Banking at Banco Sabadell in the Canary Islands ratified the effort of the entity to "through programs such as this one give the opportunity to people who deserve it in areas such as talent and their training for the future."
