The board of directors of the Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI) has proposed this Friday Francisco José Salazar Rodríguez, until now deputy director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, as president of the La Zarzuela Racetrack, the ‘holding company reported ‘ public.

The decision has subsequently passed through its shareholders’ meeting, where he has been appointed director, and by the company’s board of directors, which has confirmed him as president.
The new president of the Hippodrome, a native of the Sevillian town of Montellano, has a degree in Political Science and Sociology and an agricultural technical engineer.
Francisco José Salazar has experience in the equestrian sector after passing through the Gran Hipódromo de Andalucía, located in the Sevillian Town Hall of Dos Hermanas.
He has developed the rest of his professional activity in important positions of responsibility, the last of them as deputy director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, where he entered in 2018 as head of Analysis and Studies.
He also has a Master in Environmental Management and was commissioner for Historical Memory in the Junta de Andalucía, after serving as mayor in his hometown.
Francisco José Salazar replaces Álvaro Gutiérrez de la Fuente, who has been in charge of the La Zarzuela Racecourse since October 2018. Gutiérrez de la Fuente’s management was called into question when the public company had to paralyze an investment of 750,000 euros in a restaurant whose management had been awarded to a business union (UTE) formed by very close to Gutiérrez de la Fuente.
