Theshipping company Fred. OlsenExpres has reached a historic figure in 2018 and, these days, has exceeded three million passengers transported. Thus, the company's forecast is that, at the end of the year, a total of 3,150,000 users have traveled among the eight active routes, which translates into an increase of 8% over the previous year. In the same way, the number of vehicles transported by the shipping company has also increased by 10%, thanks to the fact that it has moved 85,000 units.
The passenger 3,000,000, the company's annual record, has traveled this week on the route between Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Specifically, the one chosen as the number three million customer was a passenger who, upon returning to Tenerife, was informed by the crew of the recognition by the shipping company. "Receiving such news, after a day's work, is a great dream," she said excitedly.
According to the company, "the new proposals have helped to achieve this figure." Last October Fred Olsen inaugurated a new sea route between the two capitals of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, which, for the first time, is made with high-speed vessels and with four daily trips between both destinations. In addition, the shipping company added to its fleet the catamaran "largest in the world" in active,Betancuria Express, which covers the route between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.
On the other hand, in November the company crossed the borders of the Archipelago with the new route between the Canary Islands and Huelva, thanks to its alliance with the shipping company Baleària. In this way, it serves both cargo customers and passengers and has managed to expand its services beyond the Canary Islands. The reservations of passage and load in the first weeks of filming have exceeded the forecasts of the two shipping companies that manage the service jointly. This route is operated by the vesselMartín i Soler, which has fully equipped cabins and numerous on-board services; and the shipClipper Pennant, which is used exclusively for the transport of cargo.
Fred Olsen, in addition to communicating daily the two Canarian capitals, currently has routes that connect Tenerife with La Gomera and La Palma; Gran Canaria with Fuerteventura, Lanzarote; La Palma with La Gomera; Lanzarote with Fuerteventura; and the triangulation between the capital islands and Huelva.
